History Curriculum

Story of the World  - My favorite History Curriculum. This is great for 1st-4th and then I LOVE to use it again 5th-12th for reading texts and I use their  literature ideas that come from the workbook as well. This is hands down my favorite History. Chalked full of fun learning, great review ideas, great projects...everything is just right for our family :)

NETFLIX MOVIES to go along with chapters of Story of the World!

Figures in Motion " is a publisher of children’s activity books where children make moving action figures of real people from history, and they are launching a new history e-newsletter called Figures In Motion Club (see a sample - issues are like mini-unit studies). It will have:
Fascinating Facts about the great men and women of history and the time in which they lived
Details about events and life in distant civilizations that make them come to life today
Links to explore famous people, archaeology, art, architecture, maps, geography, and more
Contests you can enter to win free prizes and get the latest news on our upcoming titles
Lesson plans that you can use with your students and to make history fun and memorable." Highlands Homeschoolers

American Heritage Foundation - I love this company. They are proactively political trying to salvage our US heritage. You can not only use their curriculum, but you can join their cause. They have downloadable curriculum K-12.

Add a Century Time Line-"Has history been just a dull blur of old names and dates to you?
Teaching history with a timeline will allow you to easily see in context the people and events of the human experience. Did you know that Leonardo da Vinci was born, Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press and Christopher Columbus discovered America all in a 40-year time span in the 15th century?"

Knowledge Quest - "Finally... historical outline maps and timelines designed for the interactive study of world history and geography."
